Chippy

Steve ‘Chippy’ Paine has been blogging since 1999. A professional blogger and part of the tech-blogging scene, YouTube ‘unboxing’ movement, podcaster and press-event expert having attended CES, MWC,CeBIT, SXSW, Computex, IFA and many other technology tradeshows around the world.

Chippy’s first professional blog was Carrypad which, in 2006, started writing about the importance of a yet-to-be-seen mobile internet tablet that was focused on mobility and consumption. It evolved into a website and product database covering a wide range of ultra-mobile computing products. In 2007 Chippy bought and integrated the Origamiportal website and integrated it into a new site called UMPCPortal which still tracks ultra mobile computing technology and products today.

Chippy has also run websites on Chromebooks, Ultrabooks, solar computing and has set-up and run websites for other projects and categories along with breaking out his in-house product database for other third-party sites.

In 2014 Chippy visited Ukraine with Deutsche Welle to train journalists on privacy and security. In 2015 Chippy became Video Manager for the German / English computing website Notebookcheck.

In 2016 Chippy opened his new digital media studio in Bonn, Germany.

Chippy has a successful social media profile, over 15000 subscribers on YouTube and continues to be involved in the evolving online media scene.

Chippy speaks German, enjoys a family life in Bonn and tries to cycle as much as he can.

He’s currently employed as a data analysts and marketer at a local SEO data company.
